RNC: the homefront

I know that people like my mom would not suggest that I give clues to my location on the Internet, but suffice it to say, I live very close to the Xcel Center, home of the 2008 Republican National Convention. How close? Close enough to be able to catch of glimpse of a bright red poster from my window, which on closer inspection has this on it:

Oh, that elephant. I think we'll call him Stampy.

Anyway, they're coming. They are erecting a giant white tent across from Xcel, for god knows what. They are walking around with orange tags around their necks that proclaim them to be convention workers/volunteers. They are making plans to infiltrate Minneapolis St. Paul (that's one city, not two) and pester all of those within.

Can't. Wait?

I love elephants and it breaks my heart that they're the mascot of the Republican Party. Sigh.

I also love elephants. Not only am I saddened that they represent republicans, but apparently they also kill a large number of humans every year! And here I always thought they were gentle and sweet animals.

Me three. Love elephants. Even that dancing elephant is cute. And they only kill humans because we're invading their habitat. Elephants have extremely complex emotions, including rage.
(Incidentally, don't love Republicans. I live across from a hotel that will be hosting a large number of them. What signs to hang in window???Hmmm....
